The aquatic center evokes a resort like feeling with patio trees, ample seating, shade umbrellas and open space to lay on. The level of detail resolution, use of materials and organizational choices reinforce this early 20th century Tudor style club house.
The project involved both hardscape and softscape additions to the new, one-acre Aquatic Center. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate modern-day needs and code requirements with a authentic old-world feel of a gracious estate house from a bygone era.
Working closely with the John Malick and associates we developed a formal half circle lawn that provides for a simple organization pattern that connects the main club house building with the new aquatic center. The building acts to contain the new multi lane swimming pool with diving area. The pool for children is close and within a side space to allow for convenient monitoring of both pools from pool office and central room.
